Berindei is a large village in the Community of Daneasa, near the town of Dragonesti-Olt, in Olt County.

Our work here started in 2008, and is focussed through Dr Alina Nistor, a missionary doctor, who is part of a church planting program supported by Romanian churches from Alba County and Sibiu County.

We provide medicine, medical dressings, children's clothing and shoes, and support a regular program of holiday club activities for children of the village.

We direct material aid to the schools and kindergartens in Berindei, Cioflanu and Zanoaga, where we have sent tables, chairs, white boards, 24 computers, sports and camping equipment.

We have supported a winter soup kitchen for the elderly and youth work in nearby Stoenesti, directed through the Serban family. Their work is increasingly directed to children, rather than old people.

From 2013 we widened our support with medical supplies to the blood transfusion unit in Slatina, and nutrient drinks and medicine to an old folks home in Slatina.

From December 2013 we started a 5 year project to sponsor a nurse to carry out home visits amongst the elderly in the villages of Berindei, Cioflanu and Zanoaga.

In 2015 we sent gardening equipment and computers to support a project for handicapped young adults in Dragonesti-Olt.

Berindei is the destination for the majority of our material aid.
